國防部副部長楊念祖，今天上午在立法院外交國防委員會中表示，國防部調整現行海軍偵巡區域，向南延伸至巴士海峽南部，期能達成「凡漁船作業海域，即有海巡艦艇保護，有海巡艦艇之海域，即有海軍艦艇策應」目標，有效執行護漁工作，並確保國家主權完整。

楊念祖證實，海軍與海巡署本月16日，將在南方海域實施操演，海軍屆時會出動紀德級驅逐艦與成功級巡防艦，將到附近海域操演，側應海巡艦艇。

楊念祖強調，演習和護漁任務會雙軌並行，必要時會依照作戰準則規定辦理。

楊念祖也在答覆國民黨立委林郁方質詢時表示，軍方也不排除，5月底會在台菲重疊海域實施軍演。
