經濟部23日表示，有關生技中心執行經濟部補助的牛樟芝產品相關研發計畫，為開發新藥所進行相關研究，與一般市面上販售的牛樟芝等相關保健食品並無關聯，而且市售相關產品與生技中心的試驗樣本也不相同，不宜任意引用或解讀，以免誤導社會大眾。

偉翔生技23日召開記者會指出，「牛樟芝含毒」的報導重創台灣牛樟芝商機，不排除對經濟部及蘋果日報提出告訴，經濟部晚間也發布新聞稿澄清表示，財團法人生物技術開發中心是民間專業生技研發機構，具專業獨立性，並非經濟部所屬的行政機關。

此外，有關財團法人生物技術開發中心執行經濟部補助的99年度「台灣本土天然藥物產業技術開發計畫-牛樟菇產品加值研發與應用」計畫及101年「天然藥物發展平台-牛樟菇加值新藥開發計畫」，經濟部強調，此為開發新藥所進行的相關研究，其與一般市面上販售的牛樟芝等相關保健食品並無關聯。

經濟部還說，根據財團法人生物技術開發中心表示，上述計畫研究結果僅為一次性試驗，還無法作成整體性結論，經濟部與財團法人生物技術開發中心因此均未向外公布相關研究結果。

有關目前市面上販售的各家廠商的相關產品，經濟部指出，均應有其自行檢測作業及程序，部分產品也經衛生署食品藥物管理局認可，其與生技中心的試驗樣本也不相同，不宜任意引用或解讀，以免誤導社會大眾。
